Highlighting the impact female farmers have made in the state 

With more than half of all farming operations in the United States listing women as principal operators or a decision-maker, it’s important to recognize women as an essential part of today’s farming sector.

Across the nation, the United States Department of Agriculture has cultivated resources specfic to women in ag, but what do the numbers say about women in ag in Kentucky? 

A 2017 Census survey found that 42,946 women farmed in Kentucky, a 36.7% increase from the previous census.

In Calloway County, two women in agriculture strive to break down barriers in the industry to inspire other women to join the profession.
